Sean and Ben will be Cycling 1500km in 12 days up 4 mountains 5 climbs (that’s 76,000 Feet of climbing, the equivalent of 60.8 Empire State Buildings stacked on top of each other!) in aid of the Samaritans. The Samaritans provide support to people who are distressed or in despair which may lead to thoughts of suicide. People can talk to them at any time, in confidence and in their own way.
The dynamic duo set up a crowdfunder page to raise funds for the trip in return for rewards. Your support will help Sean and Ben reach the start line, complete the ride and create a photographic archive for their book, the contents of which will be a mixture of prose, musings and poetry written en route. The rewards include and are not limited to social media exposure, official sponsorship placement on kit and in the media produced!
Sean and Ben said: “Over the last couple of years, unfortunately we have lost 5 friends to suicide, 5 friends, 5 mountains. We want to raise awareness of the service the Samaritans offers and raise money for them as they rely entirely on voluntary contributions and receive no funding from local or national government. We are incredibly grateful nexpay are on board and have contributed to our crowdfunder page”.
Sebastian Wood, Managing Director at nexpay said “Sean and Ben should be commended for their efforts and dedication in raising awareness and supporting the Samaritans. Here at nexpay we take our hats off to the guys and wish them lots of luck. We look forward to hearing about their trip and reading their book”.
