Fight financial fraud with nexpay, here's our 5 top tips:
Never disclose security details, such as your PIN or full banking password: A bank will never ask you to provide these details by email, over the phone or in writing. So stop and consider what they are asking for and think about why they would need it. If you're not 100% certain who it is on the end of the phone, don't give them any information.
Don't assume an email or phone call is authentic: Anybody can find out basic details about your business, but it doesn't mean their call is authentic. Nowadays anybody can be tricked into sharing their details.
Don't be rushed or pressured into making a decision: No provider or supplier is going to force you into providing information or make you complete a transaction there and then, so always think and remember that a genuine company wouldn't mind waiting for a response or action.
Listen to your instincts: If something is making you feel uneasy or your just not too sure, then question it and look into it further. Criminals can lure you into a false sense of security in order to get information.
Stay in control: Be confident and say no if you aren't comfortable to give them any information and make sure you stay in control of the situation. If you think someone is trying to gain information, call the number you have for that company to verify their identity.
Stay safe on and off line!
